Famous celebrities like actors and musicians are just like any normal person in the sense that they are fans of something as well. Celebrities have been an integral part of wrestling ever since Vince McMahon brought people like Cyndi Lauper and Mr. T to WWE to be a part of the first-ever WrestleMania. Plus with the rise of professional wrestlers like Dave Batista, John Cena, and Dwayne Johnson becoming huge Hollywood actors, more celebrities get the chance to interact with professional wrestlers.
There have been countless occasions where celebrities have gotten the chance to hang out with their favorite wrestlers, even going as far as to make an appearance on a wrestling show. A few celebrities have even laced up their boots and got in the ring to varying success. Let’s look at a few moments when celebrities got to meet with their favorite wrestlers.
10 Matthew McConaughey
Matthew McConaughey has been acting since the early 90s when he was starring in television commercials. He has had the chance during his career to meet with many wrestlers and even be seen on an episode of Monday Night Raw in the audience. McConaughey has appeared on Graham Norton’s talk show alongside John Cena as well, where he spoke about his childhood with Texas wrestling.
Matthew has also taken selfies with multiple wrestlers backstage including the IIconics, Peyton Royce, and Billie Kay during his appearances with WWE.
9 Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg has been connected to wrestling for a long time now. He is famously cousins with Sasha Banks/Mercedes Mone and appeared on WWE multiple times during the mid to late 2000s. Snoop Dogg would be the guest host at WrestleMania 24 for the diva’s match.
Snoop Dogg would also make an appearance on Monday Night Raw alongside Hulk Hogan in a segment featuring Hulk Hogan impersonator, Curtis Axel.
8 LeBron James
LeBron James would make his first appearance connected to wrestling during his early days in the NBA on an episode of Monday Night Raw. James would be in the crowd and get spotlighted for a couple of clips including him with a kendo stick.
LeBron has talked about his love for wrestling on multiple occasions including tweeting about the passing of Road Warrior Animal, as well as joining former WWE wrestler, Big Show for Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play event in 2011.
7 Stephen Amell
Former Hawkeye actor, Stephen Amell would start making appearances on Raw and SmackDown during a feud between Neville, Stardust, and Wade Barrett. Amell would join the three for a match at SummerSlam in a winning effort teaming with Neville.
Amell would befriend the man behind the Stardust paint, Cody Rhodes, and have him play a character in a storyline for the Hawkeye tv show. Amell has since had another match against Christopher Daniels at the All In PPV.
6 Martin Kove
Karate Kid and Cobra Kai actor Martin Kove would make an appearance on an episode of AEW Dynamite as his character John Kreese, where he would give advice to at the time AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker.
Kove would be by the side of Dr. Britt Baker earlier as he was in a promo before the match between Baker and Nyla Rose for Fyter Fest. During this promo, he would talk about how the enemy deserves no mercy.
5 Corey Taylor
Slipknot frontman, Corey Taylor, would make an appearance during an NXT taping at the Aftershock festival where he had a brief altercation with wrestler Baron Corbin. Taylor would hit Corbin across the face and even call out Corey Graves on Twitter afterward.
Taylor would later also talk about the revamp NXT would have into NXT 2.0 where he admitted he doesn’t watch it, and also that all his favorite NXT acts were called up and didn’t have anything to do on the main roster during the Shiprocked 2022 cruise.
4 Action Bronson
Action Bronson would have his first on-screen connection to wrestling when AEW star Hook started using his song, “The Chairman’s Intent” as his entrance theme. Bronson then would make his AEW debut after saving Hook from an attack from Jericho Appreciation Society members Angelo Parker and Matt Menard.
Bronson would follow that segment up with his in-ring debut in a match teaming with Hook against Menard and Parker. During an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Bronson would reveal that his contract had a no-bump clause and that he knows more moves than Dean Malenko.
3 Melissa Joan Hart
Melissa Joan Hart has been a fan of wrestling for quite some time. Hart would have a brief online feud with Kevin Owens due to some comments that she made about him after SummerSlam. Hart would admit during that feud she thought Kevin was capable of a lot more in WWE since he was doing amazing things during his run on the indies.
Hart would also appear on AEW Dynamite in the crowd and even got to go backstage where she took pictures alongside wrestlers like Danhausen and The Young Bucks.
2 Freddie Prinze Jr.
Freddie Prinze Jr. would make multiple appearances with WWE due to his being employed there from 2008-2012 on and off. Prinze would have on-screen moments like being in The Miz and John Morrison’s The Dirt Sheet segment. He also guest-hosted Monday Night Raw where Randy Orton would RKO him due to Prinze not getting Orton out of a match.
Prinze has been very public with his feelings towards wrestling today and details about his time working with WWE. Prinze has since started his podcast, Wrestling With Freddie, and even made his intentions clear with wanting to make his own wrestling promotion.
1 Hayley Williams
Hayley Williams has been a fan of wrestling for quite some time. Since making friendships with wrestlers like CM Punk and Bayley. Williams would even go as far as to give permission to Bayley to allow her usage of one of her songs for WrestleMania.
Hayley also has been spotted in the crowd for Ring of Honor, WWE, and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla shows. Hornswoggle would also admit he was good friends with Hayley Williams after an altercation with CM Punk about the topic.
