Spending time traveling & being in nature is so good for the soul, and an RV rental is such a unique way to see the country. Plus, it offers a lot of freedom that other accommodations don’t. It’s never been easier to take a camping trip or travel to see family for the holidays! An RV rental also makes an incredible gift since the memories made will last a lifetime!
There are so many wonderful places to see via RV in the colder months and where you travel is up to you. Get ready to pack up, head out, and enjoy some family campfires around the RV!
Know someone who already loves RVing? Check out RVshare’s gift guide for your friends, or for yourself!
After trying out RVshare myself, I’m convinced that an RV rental is the best way to see the country.
Now is the perfect time to start planning your winter adventure. You have over 60 national parks and more than 150 national forests to add to your destination inspiration! No matter where you live, chances are you’re close enough to easily take advantage of those RV camping opportunities.
Know someone with wanderlust? There are so many amazing places to explore. If you plan on giving an RV Rental as a gift this year, you’ll be gifting your loved one an experience to remember!
Last year, my family and I had the most amazing time exploring Utah and Zion National Park.
We found great owners on RVshare who were willing to deliver an awesome RV to the Zion Canyon RV Park which made things so much easier when planning our Zion National Park adventure in Utah. They set it up and took the time to show us everything we needed to know inside. It had a kitchen with a stove, oven, dishes, pots, pans, and everything else needed to cook.
And that’s another great thing about RVshare–they’ll actually deliver your RV rental to you!
This makes renting an RV sooooo much easier, especially if you’ve never done it before. Instead of having to hunt down an available RV close to where you want to camp, you can coordinate with the owner to have them deliver it to a location that’s right for you (or meet them halfway if that’s easier for everyone). Just filter by “Offers Delivery” to find owners who will drive the RV to you!
It’s such a great perk to have the owner show you everything you need for a successful trip, whether it’s glamping with the girls or having more upscale camping accommodations for hard-to-please teens. 😉 Plus, having the delivery option makes RVshare just as easy (if not easier) than sticking with hotels because it’s exactly right where you want to be!
With fuel costs at an all-time high, it’s such a relief that I don’t have to fill up the RV’s tank or even attach it to my car. I just drive to the camping site, stay in the RV for the duration of my trip, and drive home. Now, that’s convenience!
Note that there’s no set RVshare delivery price. It will vary per owner of the RV, but rest assured there are no hidden fees for delivery. The price you see listed on RVshare.com is the actual price!
After seeing our RV, I was so impressed at how everything was so clean inside including a larger-than-expected bathroom, which is always so convenient to have for a family stay. Staying somewhere with nice bedding, plush towels, and a fully-stocked kitchen is the BEST.
Renting an RV was the easiest camping I have ever experienced because we had electricity, comfy beds, and hot showers in a nice bathroom. Best of all, after three nights, we walked away and let them do the deep cleaning afterward – so awesome!
Zion National Park is so incredibly beautiful, and those Red Rock canyon views were AMAZING. 😍 I think visiting Zion should be on everyone’s bucket list since it’s such a gorgeous environment. Late fall and winter are perfect times to camp out for a few days in the RV. If you like to hike, the Canyon Overlook trail is stunning this time of year!
However, if you aren’t close to Zion, I’d recommend checking out some of the other popular National Parks to get some inspiration.
Even better, remember to keep an eye on RVshare’s blog!
From what to know about upcoming holiday travel to how to travel by RV in the winter, RVshare has a blog with tons of useful tips. These posts will help maximize your vacation budget while providing some helpful information! 🙌 No matter where your RV travels take you, they even have insight on travel impacts and how rising gas prices won’t severely impact your trip.
Check out some of these popular winter RV destinations:
As a fellow National Park lover, I highly recommend checking out one (or a few 😁) of these sites during your RVshare camping trip and booking your reservations ASAP (more on that later).
If you’re not interested in visiting a National Park this year, another great destination for winter is Disney World! Disney’s Fort Wilderness Park is a huge RV resort located within the park. You’ll enjoy mild temperatures and fewer crowds. It’s great for glamping, so if that’s your style, consider taking a trip to visit Mickey this Christmas.

You can browse the nearby vehicles on RVshare, and even filter by whether or not they accept pets (around 30% of them do).
Here’s how to find a great RV on RVshare:
- Find the perfect RV for your trip by using RVshare’s detailed search settings to filter by location, features, RV type, etc. to find exactly what you’re looking for! If you want to get one delivered like me, just remember to filter by “Offers Delivery”.
- Talk directly with the RV owner to arrange your trip. When they deliver the RV, they’ll also show you how all the systems work so you’ll feel right at home.
- Check the fine print of your rental since you may have to empty water tanks or fill gas tanks before it’s picked up.
- Take advantage of your hassle-free trip and let the owner take away the RV when it’s time to head home!
Note: You’ll notice that RVshare rental prices will vary a great deal by location and vehicle. There is usually a cleaning fee involved and a deposit. You’ll definitely want to factor all that in for your vacation budget.
Planning the destination is fun, but if you’re looking for a late fall or winter getaway, it’s best to make reservations NOW.
So here’s the thing about RV rentals… the actual RVshare process is the easy part, and you can even do that last minute via RVshare’s Instant Booking feature. In my experience, there was no problem finding available rigs that fit our needs. So it’s the perfect option for the upcoming season.
The hard part is finding the campsites.
If you’re looking for primitive camping places, you’ll have better luck doing things last minute. But you’ll probably want to use the RV’s electric and water hookups and it’s not uncommon for those sites to be booked months or even years in advance. 😬 Especially for those popular sites I mentioned earlier!
If you’re planning to travel to one of the more accommodative camping sites, I highly encourage you to start getting the site reservations squared away now.
That being said, I did encounter a slight hang-up while trying to book our Zion National Park trip.
It was nothing major, but it’s worth noting that you often can’t reserve your campsite before reserving your RV as they’ll need to know the vehicle dimensions before approving the reservation.
To get around that and avoid any surprises, I looked for locations with available campsites first. Then I called them directly to ask about their cancellation policies and see if they had any tips for picking a space. Once I found one I liked, I booked the RV and then quickly booked the campsite so I could enter the dimensions and get everything taken care of ahead of time.
Moral of the story: try to book early, and be cautious with last-minute planning!
Even though you can book on RVshare pretty easily at the last second, I’d recommend saving yourself a LOT of trouble by reserving both the RV and campsite early. There’s no better time than the present!
Looking to rent out your RV instead? RVshare makes it so easy!
With the RVshare platform, owners can easily list their RVs for renters to find – and it gives RV owners the opportunity to earn a little money while they’re not using their RV.
Here’s how listing an RV on RVshare works:
- List your RV on their site by adding photos and a detailed description. Manage exactly what potential renters see when they search.
- Review reservation requests and work directly with renters to agree on terms. You’re in complete control.
- Meet the renter, give them a quick demo, and send them on their way!
- Reap the benefits of listing on the largest rental network in the world. The renter will return your RV at the end of their trip.
There are several reasons owners don’t rent out their RVs, but here are some reasons to reconsider!
Still have concerns about using RVshare?
You’ll be happy to know they have a Worry-Free Rental Agreement featuring payment protection, rental & rebooking assistance, 24/7 customer support, security deposit protection, and more. Check out the full Rental Agreement to see all the perks & rules.
Even better, here’s what one of our Hip readers said about their RVshare experience:
“We rented a 30-foot motorhome a couple of summers ago from RVshare. We rented it in South Dakota and traveled to Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, and Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a blast and our family loved that way to see the country vs. being stuck in a van. We figured we saved money this way instead of renting from another company. The owner was good to work with too.” – Connie
This could be a great opportunity to gift experiences instead of things!
As my kids get older, I’m really finding myself craving more quality time and unique experiences with my family. Was this the most frugal option? Maybe not as we could have probably stayed in a local hotel for a similar cost as our cozy RV, but it wouldn’t have been the same outdoor camping experience, so I thought it was well worth it!
I was grateful to spend time with my family focusing on what’s really important – making memories with each other. Spending time with family is what the holiday season is all about! That’s why renting an RV is a great idea for holiday and winter travel!
I guarantee these kids will never forget the vacation when we rented an RV, were all stuck together for 3 days, and in an area with limited WiFi. 🤣
Honestly, I can say this adventure was one of the most fun little getaways I have ever done, and we can’t wait until our next RV rental adventure. For holiday and winter travel, I highly recommend getting an RV delivered from RVshare if it’s within your budget!
