Mortal Kombat 1 hasn’t revealed its entire roster just yet, but there’s one individual who definitely won’t be showing up: Cole Young. If the name doesn’t ring a bell, he was the protagonist of the recent Mortal Kombat movie reboot and was used as an introduction to this universe.
Although Cole didn’t make the cut in Mortal Kombat 1, he’s set to return in a new Mortal Kombat movie in the future, with filming to begin this month in Australia.
As for the fighters that will be featured in Mortal Kombat 1, players can look forward to the return of characters like Sub-Zero, Kitana and Lui Kang. You can learn more about how the game plays in our hands on from Summer Game Fest:

At least mention Lewis Tan, the actor that plays the character this article is about.
Daily updates on a game that most people really don’t care about anymore. At least make their marketing team work for it.
The important question is whether or not they’ll have Siro.
But will Larry David be in it? This is what the people really want to know.
Good. Does anyone care? I liked MK better when it didn’t include goofy movie tie ins anyway and that character sucked.
That movie was just ok. Cole was a nothing burger of a Protagonist. Even his power being a literal plot armor was lame.
They really should’ve made Liu Kang or Scorpion the Protagonist.
Of all the characters from the MK media that made it to the game series, so far Quan Chi was the only one that had that treatment. For those who don’t remember Quan Chi first appeared in the cartoon show MK: Defenders of the Realm in one of the episode way before the release of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.
He became so popular with the audience that Ed Boon and John Tobias bought the rights to his character from the USA Network (cause even though Quan Chi was created by them, USA Network had ownership of the character as it originate on their network) to make him into a villain character in their game starting with MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero and then Mortal Kombat 4 going forward.
With Quan Chi’s inclusion some people often speculate if other characters from those shows/movies made it to the game series too. The other few popular ones are Vorpax, Kiri, and Siro from MK Conquest, and Oniro from Defenders of the Realm. If Cole Young made it to the game series, he’ll be the second media character to be part of the game series.
A similar situation happen with Street Fighter as well when Capcom was making a game based on their live action movie, though both the game and the movie doesn’t feature iconic Kung Fu master Fei-Long, they did include an original character Captain Sawada to take his place. Unlike Quan Chi, Sawada’s inclusion was not due to popularity seen by Capcom but that Capcom simply want more characters from the movie in the game as most of the actors likely those who play T.Hawk and Dhalsim in the film never show up for the game’s development.
“the movie wasn’t bad that’s just your opinion because you didn’t like it”
my opinion: this movie was terrible but I enjoyed watching it with some friends that also grew up playing these games 😎 and ill watch whatever terrible MK movie they come out with next 😆
Tbh, the first time I watched the film I felt that it was not good apart from a few fighting scenes.
However, watching it again I enjoyed a lot more. Even Cole wasn’t so bad, however, I’d prefer the new film to focus a lot more on the most popular fighters.
