Nintendo confirms Zelda live-action movie in the works
It is no secret that Nintendo has fully embraced introducing their video gaming franchises to the big screen. Not only has a Super Mario movie debuted earlier this year to massive success, but there have been rumors swirling for a good while that Nintendo was planned on a film based on The Legend of Zelda.
Well, the rumors are now official. Shigeru Miyamoto has confirmed on Nintendo’s Japanese Twitter account moments ago that a live-action film of The Legend of Zelda is in the works. In fact, Miyamoto reveals that he has been working on the film with Avi Arad “for many years now”. You can see Miyamoto’s message down below.
I have asked Avi-san to produce this film with me, and we have now officially started the development of the film with Nintendo itself heavily involved in the production. It will take time until its completion, but I hope you look forward to seeing it. [2]https://t.co/2H9lzzS5Pv

Maybe we’ll get Zelda Willams to play Princess Zelda.
Honestly, I’m just glad they’re not giving it to Illumination to do like those rumours a while back were suggesting.
The Mario movie worked out well in their hands, but I wouldn’t trust them with something more down to earth like Zelda.
It curious how Miyamoto got to work in the movie business before Hideo Kojima…ironic, isn’t it?
Well the rumors is official now. Now fans of the series can relax now. I don’t know how will Nintendo and other film studios will handle the lore for the franchise.
The bar has been raised!!
If it’s based on Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker (Remember one piece on Netflix), or Breath of the wild, it’s going to do very well! Who’s playing Ganon then?
Well, it looks like we’re not getting a Nintendo cinematic universe Afterall. Unless they use both CGi and live action. With that said, if Sony is going to be involved, maybe it’s a good thing it’s live action. Let’s be honest, the last good “””animated””” Sony movie was in the 00s.
Are we excluding the runaway success of both spiderverse movies?
Excuse me? What about Into The Spider-Verse (released in 2018)? Or did you not see that one?
Their best bet will be to either adapt Zelda 1 or Ocarina.
I personally don’t think they should adapt a game. Loose connection to specific games through common themes would be cool, but story should be it’s own thing. I think for more important than plot though is visual style and atmosphere. The charm and wonderment of the games needs to come through.
They should really have gotten Peter Jackson’s team involved.
I hope that Aounuma and if it’s possible Koizumi are involved in the production.
I would perfer a chibi collaboration over live action, but i think this news might break the Internet im still processing it.
Derek Connolly is apparently going to be a writer for this movie.
I’m concerned.
I can’t wait to see Chris Pratt’s portray of Link./jk
I just have 2 things to say about this:
1. I hope they adapt Ocarina of Time
HEAR ME OUT: Chris Hemsworth as Adult Link
