The Christian Post has been reinstated to Twitter nine months after the social media giant reportedly punished the media outlet for tweeting a story about U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine, a biological male who identifies as female.

“Our Twitter account has just been reinstated after a 9-month suspension because we correctly called Biden official Rachel Levine a man — and we refused to retract this truth,” The Christian Post announced Dec. 31 in a series of tweets.
The outlet went on to explain its reasons for refusing to delete the offending tweet, expressing the quest to stand by journalistic truth and Christian ethics.
“As journalists, we understand our ethical obligation to provide accuracy over narrative and truth over opinion,” a subsequent tweet explained. “Calling a man a man is a scientific truth, not opinion. Editorializing facts is called commentary, opinion, or, in some cases, dishonesty.”

Here’s why:

More important than these realities, though, The Christian Post pointed to its “primary responsibility” — a love for the Lord and to “advancing His truth.” This devotion led the outlet to decline to backtrack on the truth or bow down to the “immoral demands of Twitter’s former leadership.”
“In this case, obedience to God meant judgment by man,” the outlet continued. “As living sacrifices to God, this was a small but necessary line for us to draw.”
The Christian Post’s return to Twitter comes as other formerly suspended accounts have been reinstated to the platform under new owner Elon Musk’s leadership.
Satire site The Babylon Bee and former president Donald Trump are among those whose accounts are now active, though Trump has thus far declined to use the platform since his account’s restoration.
The Christian Post credited Musk with its Twitter return in the aforementioned series of tweets.
“Thanks to the free speech doctrine held by @elonmusk, our account has been reinstated, and we will continue speaking biblical truth, never in hate, always in love, and always to inform our readers to the best of our abilities,” the outlet proclaimed, closing with 2 Timothy 2:15, which reads, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”
As Faithwire previously reported, problems for The Christian Post began March 15 when the outlet published a tweet that read, “USA Today names Rachel Levine, a man, among its ‘Women of the Year.’” That tweet linked out to a story about Levine’s placement on that USA Today listing.
Twitter reportedly reached out to The Christian Post and accused the outlet of violating its prohibitions against “hateful conduct” and said the media source would need to remove the tweet.
The Christian Post declined to remove the tweet and, for months, was unable to use Twitter.
“Twitter told us that if we remove the tweet of the CP article, ‘USA Today names Rachel Levine among its ‘Women of the Year,’ then our account will be restored,” the outlet told CBN’s Faithwire at the time. “We do not plan on removing the tweet. We will continue to speak the truth even if it costs us our Twitter account.”
It seems The Christian Post lived out that pledge to its fullest.
