We never thought we’d see the day when Claudia Schiffer would be upstaged by a cat. However, that was the case at the global premiere of the upcoming film “Argylle” in London on Wednesday night — despite A-list appearances on the red carpet. The supermodel, 53, walked the bright yellow carpet in a Versace gown with a theme-appropriate argyle pattern and lace embellishment. But she carried a special accessory, toting around an unexpected companion: her family’s cat, Chip, who actually appears in the movie. Paying tribute to the already-memorable scene where the Scottish Fold is carried around in a backpack that has a bubble-like window, Schiffer’s fur baby sat in an identical bag as the two posed for the cameras. As it turns out, Chip is a bit of a nepo baby; Schiffer’s husband, filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, directed “Argylle” while she served as executive producer, thus securing the cat’s role. The model spoke about the topic in a quick interview with Vogue, joking that now, Chip’s “ego is insufferable!” Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Henry Cavill, Ariana DeBose and Dua Lipa also appear in the film, which will be released in the United Stated on Feb. 2. For more Page Six Style … Despite having to share the spotlight with her feline friend, the “Love Actually” star did hold her own when it came to her fashion choices. Schiffer shined in a dress from Versace’s spring 2024 collection, which she actually modeled on the runway at the brand’s fashion show in September 2023. However, there were slight tweaks to the design, including a slightly smaller pattern, more lace, and a yellow colorway versus the original green. She paired the piece with silver, bow-embellished heels and wore her hair straight. Thankfully, this won’t be the only sighting of Schiffer and Chip; Aside from continuing the movie’s promotional tour, the model often shares posts on social media featuring the cat and the two recently collaborated on a new novel together, “Blue Chip: Confessions of Claudia Schiffer’s Cat,” which is out now. Looks like the late Karl Lagerfeld’s Choupette has some competition for the title of most famous feline. Me-ow.
