The acting legend sweetly praised wife Arlene Silver in a video shared Friday, which was filmed backstage at the taping of his upcoming CBS special in celebration of his 98th birthday. In the Instagram Story clip, shared by photographer Laura Johansen, Van Dyke — who turns 98 on Dec. 13 — smiled as he looked over at his glamorously-dressed wife while sitting in a chair in a dressing room. “You look like a movie star,” he told Silver, 52, as another voice asked, “Doesn’t she?” Van Dyke shared a sweet moment with his wife at the taping of his CBS birthday special. Van Dyke and Silver got married on Leap Day in February 2012. The pair met at the SAG Awards in 2006, where Silver worked as a makeup artist. She fell in love with the Mary Poppins star after she supported him following the death of his longtime love, Michelle Triola, who died from lung cancer in 2009.
