One of the best parts of the Disney experience while at the Disney Resorts are the entertainment offerings at the Disney Parks. From the incredible rides and attractions for Guests to enjoy, like Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise at Disneyland Park in Disneyland Resort and Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World Resort, to parades like the Festival of Fantasy or Magic Happens, fans from all over the world flock to their favorite Disney Theme Park to get a chance to experience the Disney magic. One of the primary reasons Disney entertainment is so beloved is because of the effort on the part of Walt Disney Imagineering to keep the rides updated and fresh; in that vein, fans will be excited to know that the Magic Happens parade has a surprising RuPaul’s Drag Race connection.

The Magic Happens parade, which was brought back to celebrate Disney’s centennial, opened at the Disneyland Resort after being postponed from its original opening date of February 24, 2023, due to the heavy downpour and steady rain Southern California was experiencing. The parade runs twice daily, on most days in the upcoming months.
What is incredibly special about this returned “whimsical parade celebrating magical moments from legendary Disney stories” is that this version has a unique connection to RuPaul’s Drag Race.

As reported by the OC Register, Magic Happens was graced with the skills of Raven from RuPaul’s Drag Race. They shared, “The edgy-by-Disney-standards fashion-forward look is by design. Disney teamed up on the parade with Emmy-nominated makeup artist David Petruschin, known by the stage name Raven on VH1’s ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race.’”

As we’ve reported previously, the parade also features a new soundtrack from Todrick Hall, the American Idol singer-songwriter. Disney is certainly revamping their look and their inspiration and is bringing back these old classics in new flavors and colors!
