According to Deadline, Golden Globe nominee Mila Kunis and Oscar nominee Michael Keaton have signed on to star in the upcoming comedy film titled Goodrich, which is set to begin production next month. Keaton and Kunis are set to portray the father-daughter duo of Andy and Grace.
Goodrich will be written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer. In addition to starring, Keaton and Kunis are also serving as executive producers along with Spider-Man: No Way Home producer Amy Pascal. Producers are Jason Cloth and Dave Caplan for C2 Motion Picture Group along with Kevin Mann and Stay Gold Features’ Daniela Taplin Lundberg.
“Set in contemporary Los Angeles during the holidays, the film tells the story of art dealer Andy Goodrich (Keaton), a man whose life is upended when his younger second wife leaves him and enters a 90-day rehab program while also threatening divorce,” reads the synopsis. “Goodrich takes charge of their nine-year-old twins, thrusting him into the world of modern parenthood for which he is deeply unprepared. With his career falling by the wayside, he leans on his grown and pregnant daughter Grace for support, and ultimately evolves into the father Grace never had.”
Kunis is no stranger to the comedy genre, as she previously starred in the iconic sitcom That ’70s Show, where she played Jackie Burkhart. She recently reprised her breakout role on the Netflix spin-off That ’90s Show. She also had leading roles in comedy films like Forgetting Sara Marshall, Ted, and Bad Moms.
Before leading Goodrich, Keaton will next be seen in the upcoming The Flash movie in his long-awaited return as Bruce Wayne/Batman three decades after Tim Burton’s DC sequel Batman Returns. He is also reportedly reprising the role of Beetlejuice in an upcoming sequel to Burton’s cult classic horror comedy, with Scream VI star Jenna Ortega in talks for the project.
