Superman & Lois Superman: Legacy Movie May Have Killed Superman & Lois The coming of Superman: Legacy may have killed Superman & Lois. The recent CW day at the Television Critics Association Press Tour happened within the past week, and in addition to learning things like when Superman & Lois is coming back for Season 4, other outlets were able to get more information from CW President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz… and one of the things he said specifically stood out. As many know, only four series from the previous CW regime were renewed for additional seasons. Walker and All American are back in April, All American: Homecoming will return in the Summer, and Superman & Lois is back in the Fall. During the presentation, it was said that Walker, All American, and Homecoming all could be renewed for more, in success…. but what about Superman & Lois? Could there be a Season 5? Sadly, in a follow-up article on TheWrap, we may have gotten a glimpse as to something else that’s gone on. According to TheWrap article, it was a decision from Warner Bros. to not continue past Season 4. “They don’t want a competing Superman product in the marketplace,” Brad Schwartz said, referring to the new Superman movie, Superman: Legacy, hits theaters on July 11, 2025. With strikes and budget cuts, we should probably consider ourselves lucky to even be getting a fourth season…. though within the wider DC multiverse, there should be room for more than one. (How many Batmen are there right now, anyway?) In any event, come 2025, the TV duo of Elizabeth Tulloch and Tyler Hoechlin will be passing the torch over to Rachel Brosnahan and David Corenswet. Good news and bad news: The good news is we now know when Superman & Lois Season 4 is premiering. The bad news: It officially won’t be back until Fall 2024. The word came out today during the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour Executive Session for the network. This will mean it will be something like 15 months since the end of Season 3 and the beginning of Season 4. The new season will comprise of only 10 episodes, and yes, it is the final season. CW President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz said he has seen the season premiere and it’s “the best season yet,” and the reason for waiting for the fourth quarter of 2024 means that there will be time to better promote the season and accommodate the large amount of visual effects. “Over the last three seasons, Superman & Lois redefined both the superhero genre and family drama as Tyler, Elizabeth and the entire cast effortlessly portrayed these classic characters with new layers of depth and complexity that had never before been explored in the Superman universe,” Schwartz said earlier this year. “We are grateful for the years of hard work and graceful storytelling from the show’s writers, producers, actors and crew, as well as our terrific partners at Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions. As Superman embarks on his final flight, the team is leaving us with an absolutely epic 10-episode must-watch-every-minute farewell to one of the most legendary CW families ever.” Superman & Lois More Superman & Lois Season 4 Directors Revealed KryptonSite has learned who will be directing the fourth and fifth episodes of Superman & Lois Season 4. The fourth episode of the new season will be directed by Gregory Smith , and the fifth episode is directed by Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ‘ s Elizabeth Henstridge . Both of them have directed previous episodes of the show. No episode titles or writer information is known at this time, though as far as guest stars go, it does seem that Erik Valdez (Kyle Cushing), Wolé Parks (John Henry Irons), and Tayler Buck (Natalie Irons) have recently had social media posts where they have been seen on set. Those three are sadly no longer series regulars for the fourth season, but we had known that they might be showing up in a guest star capacity. The annual Saturn Awards honor the best in genre entertainment, and this year’s awards show – held at the L.A. Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel and hosted by Joel McHale – was an especially great one, as the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror honored as the Best Superhero Television Series. Superman & Lois It was up against heavy competition, including Doom Patrol, The Flash, The Sandman, Secret Invasion, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and DC’s Stargirl. But, yes – Superman & Lois took the top spot! Much of the rest of the night was owned by Star Trek,  which makes us wonder why there’s been no movement yet on their Legacy series. Elizabeth Tulloch was on hand to accept the award, where, despite being tired from filming Superman & Lois Season 4, she heaped special praise on to the S&L crew. Showrunners Todd Helbing and Brent Fletcher joined her on stage. Congratulations to the team on your accomplishment as we look forward to Season 4 later this year!
