When Donald Trump gets enraged, there’s no telling what will fall out of his — or into his social media posts.
More than once, he’s appeared to admit to behavior or even crimes, despite denying it both before and after that (accidental?) confession.
In this case, he’s released a lot of bluster and fuss following the news that major witnesses are talking to a grand jury in the potential case against him for trying to suppress adult film star Stormy Daniels’ story of their sexual encounter, and his post looks an awful lot like an admission.
Among other things, he declares that the incident took place “a long time ago” (despite previously denying it took place at all); that it’s outside of the statute of limitations (he offers no supporting evidence for this); and that he relied on the advice of his attorney, Michael Cohen (despite previously denying he knew anything about hush money payments).
All those apparent admissions might be over Trump’s head, but they didn’t elude his alleged affair partner, who tweeted mocking him and thanking him for the confession.
Stormy Daniels dropped a screenshot and reminded everyone of the insults he’s slung at her, specifically referencing calling her a “horse face” as well as accusing her of lying.
Stormy, who has been through multiple lawsuits with the former president and successfully had her non-disclosure agreement invalidated, has moved on and is currently releasing a new reality show that focuses on men in same-sex relationships, but still seemed delighted that consequences may actually be coming at last.
Trump’s read, in part:
“With respect to the “Stormy” nonsense, it is VERY OLD & happened a long time ago, long past the very publicly known & accepted deadline of the Statute of Limitations. I placed full Reliance on the JUDGEMENT & ADVICE OF COUNCIL, who I had every reason to believe had a license to practice law, was competent, & was able to appropriately provide solid legal services.”
Daniels responded:
Thanks for just admitting that I was telling the truth about EVERYTHING.
Thanks for just admitting that I was telling the truth about EVERYTHING. Guess I’ll take my “horse face” back to bed now, Mr. former “president”.
Btw, that’s the correct way to use quotation marks. pic.twitter.com/VSG867kwk8— Stormy Daniels (@StormyDaniels) January 31, 2023
