(CNSNews.com) – South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem said Tuesday that it’s not the role of government to bail out depositors of regional banks pushing woke agenda.
When asked whether the federal government should bail out “the depositors of regional banks when they go woke and then go broke,” Noem said, “No. That is not the role of the government and certainly not when it comes down to all of this happening because of poor management.
“Listen, Jesse, we have seen this going on for quite some time, not just in these two banks and their situation, but we have also seen ESG policies happen in different states and at the federal government level where they are pushing this woke liberal agenda and they are deciding who can do business and who can’t do business,” she told Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime.”
“It’s one of the reasons that we had a bill in front of us this legislative session here in South Dakota that would have changed the definition of money. It was our banks and our financial institutions that said this was just general, federal guidance updates that we needed to do, but it excluded forms of digital currency like bitcoin and cyber currency,” the governor said.
She said that “it was something that was going to be very detrimental if we allowed the federal government to come into this space, control currency as it was defined in the bill and then use their liberal policies to decide what you could buy and what you can’t buy, so this is all tied together in a trend that we are seeing in our financial institutions, and it’s to control people.”
“So, be careful what you ask the government to bailout, because when they start this kind of precedent like they have with these two banks, it could take away all of your freedoms as well,” Noem said.
As CNSNews.com reported, a Russian plane downed a U.S. drone over the Black Sea. When asked how she would handle it, the governor said, “For me our drone is our fighter jets. That’s how we defend ourselves and our country. So it is extremely aggressive action, and it needs a direct response.”
